How can i make my camera not flash?

I have a FinePix A400. And i was wondering how to make the camera not flash? I jus don’t like the look of how it makes me look on the picture. And does anyone know how to make the camera flash brighter so it makes me look white? Sometimes i like the look of it. Thanks. ?

Here’s the manual for your camera.

Go to page 43-44 for setting the flash to behave how you want it. You can make it not fire no matter what, fire no matter what, or leave it on auto, plus a few other options.

To make yourself look lighter, go to page 52 to see how to adjust “exposure compensation.” Adding EV makes you brighter, subtracting makes you darker, and the good news is you don’t need the flash to use it.
