My Shutter Remote is busted- can I fix it?
My cheapo JJC Canon Remote has kicked the bucket. When plugged into my 40D it will focus but when the button is pressed it will not take a picture.
I bought it about a year ago and I’ve used it less than 20 times. I’ve ordered a better one but it’ll be a while before it gets here- does anyone know if I can possibly pull it apart and do some DIY magic to fix it? Wouldn’t be such a great loss if it didn’t work- like I said, the new one should be coming soon enough.

Well, I guess I was wondering if anyone else has ever tried this or if anyone had any advice.
I agree with Lensman. It could be nothing more than a loose wire or bad battery connection. I think they cost less than $15…..so you really have nothing to lose by trying, especially seeing that already ordered a new one.
