How do I know what model camera I have if I don’t have the box or manual?
All I know is that it’s a Canon that uses an EFS 18-55mm lens, says EOS in the corner, and it’s a Digital Rebel (not XTi). It also uses a BG-E1 Battery Grip.
It looksvery similar to this:

Except it’s not an XTi.

Remove the battery compartment cover. There should be a label that indicates a serial number and model number. If it is missing, take the camera in to any reputable Canon Camera dealer (Not a big box department store) and they can identify the model number for you. You can then go online and download the Canon manual for that particular camera.
