Lomo LC-A+ Lomography Camera – Become a Photo-adventurer – Discover the most interactive, vivid, blurred and crazy face of Lomography! $244.99 Lomo LC-A+ Harnessing the best features of the original Lomo LC-A, and rising above it with a host of new capabilities – the Lomo LC-A+ is simply the finest, most delightfully unexpected, robust, pocketable, vividly colorful, and soundly addictive snapshot camera of all time. First off, it’s got the lighting-fast zone focusing and on-point automatic exposure of the original. Next, The Lomographic Society’s Chinese factory has faithfully & lovingly duplicated the original Russian Minitar 1 32/2.8 lens – yielding the same radiant colors, the knockout contrast, the edge vignetting, the powerful multicoating, and the occasionally temperamental focusing of like the original. On top of that, it now offers a Multiple Exposure switch, expanded film ISO setting to 1600, and a cable release thread.+The Time Has ComeFor the past 12 years, our hearts, minds, and souls have been captive to the whims and demands of one tiny little camera: the Lomo LC-A. Who knew that this unassuming little metal amigo could serve up images incredible and charming enough to inspire the birth and constant expansion of an entire Society dedicated to spontaneous and hyper-creative photography? Yes, it was that good. The Lomo LC-A was our very best friend and the cornerstone of everything that the Lomographic Society stands upon. A little over a year ago, the production of the original Lomo came to an end, and we knew that it was up to us and the Community of Lomographers to invent a suitable replacement from the ground up. It was clear that this had to be a team effort. After all, most of the credit for the Lomo’s enduring cult fame and innovative techniques goes to you – our Lomographic friends and colleagues – who worked tirelessly to tease the world’s most compelling and impossible images out of this tiny black box. We harnessed the Lomographic Community’s power by offering an online poll – detailing what the most important features of the Lomo were. In order, they were: 1. The Minitar 1 32.2.8 lens – and the colors & effects that it yields 2. Long exposures with and without a flash 3. Multiple and overlapping exposures 4. The LC-A’s easily portable body and ease of use The path was set. Over one year later, Lomographic Society is absolutely thrilled to present the brand new Lomo LC-A+. It’s designed as not only a replacement for – but a major improvement upon the original design. It’s the LC-A+ a host of new features. The LC-A+ the input of thousands of Lomo experts. Essentially, it’s the LC-A+ you! For new Lomographers, it provides the same images and effects that the original LC-A was so soundly adored for. For you old-school veterans, it offers a host of new features and technique possibilities within the body and lens that you’re well versed in using. Lomo LC-A+ Features The Legendary Minitar 1 32/2.8 lens The single greatest attribute taken from the original Lomo LC-A design. This multi-coated little beauty is the reason for most of the Lomo?s magical & famous |

Exposure brings all the creative tools of film photography to the digital world. Features: What’s New Speed! Our new preview system is much more interactive, which makes it easier to experiment and quickly explore presets. We also found ways to speed up our rendering, especially if you are using Photoshop CS5. Exposure 3 in 64 bit CS5 is over twice as fast as Exposure 2 in CS4 on the Mac and about 30% faster on Windows. Photoshop CS5 64 bit Support Exposure 3 works great with the 64 bit version of Photoshop CS5 on both Macintosh and Windows. This gives Exposure access to more memory and a speed boost. Lightroom Support Exposure 3 now works in Adobe Lightroom 2 or later. Our method of tight Lightroom integration provides batch processing and does not require Photoshop to be installed. See our Lightroom page for installation and usage advice. Over 500 Presets There are now over 500 carefully designed factory presets in Exposure 3. Entire new categories have been added, such as Cinematography and Lo Fi. New settings have been added in almost every other category too. Where appropriate, we enhanced existing settings with the new vignette, dust, and scratches features. We have two videos that give a tour through all of our factory presets. You can also visit our examples page to see many of Exposure’s effects. Aging and Vintage Films More vintage films have been added, including Technicolor movie film, early versions of Kodachrome, and Autochrome (one of the first color film processes). The illusion of age is enhanced by new features like dust, scratches, and vignettes. Visit our examples page to see these new effects. Lo Fi Photography Toy cameras such as Lomo and Holga are extremely popular for creating odd special effects. Exposure 3 provides a wide range of looks from this Lo Fi photography, including lens blur, warped vignettes, and funky colors from cross processing. Visit our examples page to see these new effects. Ease of Use The entire user interface has been rewritten from scratch. Here are some of the most noticeable results. The preview image updates much faster. Settings can now have comments that appear as hover help. We added comments to some of the factory presets to help explain the best way to use them. You can add comments to your own saved settings too. The mouse scroll wheel lets you quickly zoom to arbitrary levels. You can duplicate a factory preset by dragging it into the User Settings list. What’s Already Great Realistic Grain Exposure’s grain is carefully researched and realistic, unlike the digital speckles rendered by other software. Like actual grain, it clumps and is strongest in the midtones. Grain size scales with you |

Chill Buenos Aires Sessions $14.39 Ello Riso, he of the Defected dance series, has put together a 14-track sampling of the Argentine underground phenomenon known as chillout. From the evidence of this collection, chillout is merely a laid-back branch of electronica — smooth, usually broadly-paced, drawn-out, repetitive, rhythm-computer-driven grooves that mostly cannot be tied to any particular nationality. Riso’s (with R@F) “Quiet Breath” lays down a most seductive opening groove with electric piano, vibraphone and a digitally delayed electronic signature motif. Tracks like South Connexion’s “Exp Dub,” Alas’ “Tendance,” 3 Funk’s “Goodbye” and Opal’s “Thinking From the Hill” are mildly flavored by acid jazz rhythmic ideas, while Dual Session’s “Inside Out” channels some funk. At one point, the distinctive harmonies of Caetano Veloso’s songwriting style break through the minimalist trance in Lomo de Burro’s take on “Luz Do Sol,” with vocals by Mariana. Yet even this Brazilian-slanted selection doesn’t sound terribly out of place in this collection which, given the interconnected society we live in, could have been recorded almost anywhere on the globe. And it goes down easily, fluidly. ~ Richard S. Ginell, Rovi |
